Partnering

ZGene aims at fully exploiting the potential of the ZAS™ technology. Our strategy is dual: we develop our candidates in-house, and we partner with pharma- or biotech companies. ZGene constantly develops novel, improved activators. Therefore, we are interested in collaborating with external partners, industrial or academic. We are seeking a) partners with effective delivery technologies; and/or b) companies that developes new nucleoside analogs suitable for ZAS™ enhanced effect. Our genes/enzymes can be delivered by any viral and non-viral delivery systems such as adeno-, retro-, lenti-, AAV oncolytic virus.

Research & license agreements

ZGene has developed a wide variety of activator genes tailored for specific delivery systems. The process of producing a gene and testing delivery capabilities before starting pre-clinical in vitro studies is 6-12 months depending on the specific indication and the pro-drug chosen. We are searching for partners to continue the development of our technology. Research and license agreements on specific combinations of gene, drug and cancer types will be made with biotech or pharmaceutical companies.

Development & license agreements

ZGene will take selected ZAS technology (1 compound and 1 kinase) into clinical development - typically through a Phase I/IIa study aiming at demonstrating efficacy in a limited group of patients. This will ensure that the projects are attractive for outlicensing to either biotech or pharmaceutical companies who will fully develop and market the technology.
